The Book Fair Event

The Book Fair Event

The book fair is an annual event that takes place in our school and in other countries. The reason for holding it in our school is for children to buy books and to learn about certain topics.

The decorations are made by children from first to seventh grades. They design booklets or drawings or even stories or compositions, all about a specific topic.

Every year we do mini-plays, but this year we did presentations about Global Warming, talking about the causes, the effects and solutions.

My final thought is that it was very interesting to learn how you could help making our world a better place to live.

The Book Fair Event

The Book Fair Event

The book fair event is an event held for children and parents. They go to buy books of all kinds. It takes place in the whole world every year.

The book fair is organized and there are books in Spanish, English and other languages. Sometimes people read books and do a “mini-show”.

This year at school we represented a video about Global Warming. Parents came to see us, and many of us enjoyed it.

I think a book fair event is a very good idea because people have fun. I would like to organize more book fair events.

How can we Make our World a Better Place to Live?

How can we make our world a better place to live?

Our environment is not perfect because we have some problems like air pollution, heavy traffic and little space for people to walk. But we can solve all these problems. How? Here I will tell you.

Firstly, the air pollution problem could be solved by moving the factories out of the city. Secondly, a useful suggestion would be to encourage people to use public transport to avoid heavy traffic. Finally, we have to solve the problem that people don't have enough room to walk. That situation could be improved if we built wider pavements.

In my opinion, it would be a good idea to take care of The Earth, the place where we live because industries and cars increase the amount of carbon dioxide producing the global warming effect.

The Book Fair Event

“The Book Fair Event.”

The Book Fair event is held every year at school in May. It is for children to read more and to know more about certain topics: for example this year it was global warming.

This year, our teachers prepared a script about global warming for us to say it in front of our parents. In class each of us designed a booklet and showed it to our parents. And the helpers made all the decoration, with trees.

The day of the event the parents were waiting for us, and when we appeared at the front we presented a video with images and we said our script. Later, after the presentation we showed them the booklets and finished “our” Book Fair.

I had a good time at the Book Fair, we had fun and I enjoyed it very much. Above all, this year I felt it more because it is our last year here!

The Play

THE PLAY

The play is a story that is written for actors to perform. In our case, the actors are students from different courses and the play takes place at school. It is an important annual event at "Lomas de Nuñez Upper School".

7th grader's play this year was called "The Wiz". The play was about a girl named Dorothy who was lost in a fantastic world were she met new friends: Lion, Tin Man, and Scarecrow. On their way to find the wizard, they learned that what they had been waiting for had been inside them all the time.

We worked a lot on it with our teachers Nora and Anna, but Virginia and Sandra helped us very much, too. Preparing a play is a fun and nice way of practising oral language.

The Book Fair Event

" The Book Fair Event"

The Book Fair event is an event that takes place all over the world, it is an annual event. In our school we organized one two weeks ago, this event is celebrated for people to buy books and for us to read and prepare little plays and presentations.

The book fair at our school is organised by the English coordinator, a company that brings us books to buy and students who prepare plays. The school has to be decorated for this event. Sometimes adults bring food to sell there.

Two weeks ago we, 7th B, prepared a presentation to perform downstairs during the event. We talked about Global Warming, the causes and the results, and then we sang a song.

I think that the Book Fair is a great event because they teach us how to read, and we perform many plays and presentations.

Ways to Stop Violence on TV

Ways to Stop Violence on TV

Nowadays, violence on TV is shown at any channel at any time. You can find it mostly in movie channels. There are many ways to stop violence on TV:

Firstly, a useful suggestion to stop violence on TV would be throwing out your TV set, in this way you wouldn’t see any programmes.

Secondly, you could complain to your local TV stations and tell them to air suitable TV programmes so that your children would see educational programmes only.

Thirdly, it would be a good idea to look to the TV guide and select programmes that are suitable to your children. The result of this would be that you would see programmes without violence.

Finally, the best solution for this great problem would be turning off your TV and looking for a book to read, a game to play or playing any sports. As a result, children would have a much wider variety of activities.

In Conclusion, violence on TV is not an easy issue to stop. In my opinion, the best solution would be turning off your TV and looking for something else to do.

The Book Fair Event

“The Book Fair Event”

The book fair event is celebrated in many schools around the world. It is celebrated once a year so that people can read all the books they want.
The book fair is decorated with a lot of things: Posters, booklets, tables and there are people who read to you and recommend some books.
The book fair event isn’t only to read books, you can play music, dance with some people and they have a lot of very good activities.
The last book fair event at our school was very interesting. We talked about Global Warming and made presentations. It’s very nice. You will enjoy it if you go with someone from your family.

What is a blog?

What is a blog?
According to Wikipedia, “A blog (an abridgment of the term web log) is a
website, usually maintained by an individual, with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse chronological order. "Blog" can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.
Many blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject; others function as more personal
online diaries. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, web pages, and other media related to its topic. The ability for readers to leave comments in an interactive format is an important part of many blogs. Most blogs are primarily textual, although some focus on art (artlog), photographs (photoblog), sketchblog, videos (vlog), music (MP3 blog), audio (podcasting) are part of a wider network of social media. Micro-blogging is another type of blogging which consists of blogs with very short posts. As of December 2007, blog search engine Technorati was tracking more than 112 million blogs. With the advent of video blogging, the word blog has taken on an even looser meaning of any bit of media wherein the subject expresses his opinion or simply talks about something….”

The main idea of this blog is to publish seventh form’s work, for example, writings, poems and other activities that the children do at school

If we were in Charge of the World a poem by 7th A

If we were in Charge of the World
A poem by 7th A

If we were in charge of the World
We’d cancel petrol ships and unnecessary factories
We’d cancel burning fossil fuels,
Cigarettes and modern smog
And sprays that are hurting the countries.

If we were in charge of the World
There’d be trees on all the streets
More litter bins and less deforestation
Flying cars that use the sun’s energy
Less traffic, more bicycles
And no holes in the Ozone layer.

If we were in charge of the world
You wouldn’t have people living on the streets
Polluted air or black waters,
Violent toys or TV shows
And chemicals in foods and drinks.

If we were in charge of the world
We wish people would cooperate
And countries would be united
We wish our ideas were useful
And we could make the world a better place to live.

If I were in Charge of the World a poem by 7th B

If I were in Charge of the World
A Poem by 7th B

If I were in charge of the world
I’d cancel deforestation and many factories
I’d cancel heavy traffic
And I’d try to get people to use the buses

If I were in charge of the world
There’d be animals and plants
More sweet water and
The air would not be polluted

If I were in charge of the world
You wouldn’t have difficulty to breathe
You wouldn’t have contaminated rivers
You wouldn’t have rubbish at home

If I were in charge of the world
I’d wish people were more conscious
I’d wish to have big forests
Your world would be safe and clean

If I were in charge of the world
I’d cancel heavy traffic on the streets
There’d be more trees and more animals
And litter bins in the streets

If I were in charge of the world
I’d wish to change selfishness in men
I’d wish to reduce greenhouse gases
I’d wish that people did not cut down trees

If I were in charge of the world
There’d be more bird chirping to be heard
There’d be a lot of food and water
And natural things would grow by themselves
